Had a great meal but meeting the owner George and talking bourbon was so much fun. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area.
Magnificent place in Albuquerque, NM to eat good meat, very good quality, the best. It is not in the center but if you have a car you have to go. Very good local atmosphere, great service, but as I say the best is the meat. The place is literally old but that makes it funny. The only thing that is a little dark. Highly recommended.
The only, I mean only, reason for the slightly less than 5 stars is the lighting is dim in the Steakhouse. The food, though... Holy cow. One of the best filet mignons I've ever had. $24.95 at time of writing, comes with potatoes, toast, and house salad) So thick, perfectly cooked, wrapped in thick bacon. It was so tender and melt-in-your-mouth I barely felt like I needed a knife. The potatoes were hot skin-on and the perfect texture. Waitress was cheerful and very timely with everything, great service. We went about 4:30 and that was much better than the line when we left. we also had the fried mushrooms as an appetizer. $7 at time of writing) Plenty for 2 people and the breading was light and crunchy, so tasty! We will definitely be back and I'm glad we chose them. NOTE! the Steakhouse entrance is on the right side if you're facing the liquor store, which is in front. and is tiny, but they're very nice) Lots of parking, although no visible disabled near the restaurant door. But it's flat parking lot, at least. 1 disabled spot in front of the liquor store. Parking: Doesn't look like a lot from the front, but there's a ton in back and it goes all the way around the building. one disabled spot in front of store part, couldn't tell if there were any disabled spots by restaurant part. All flat parking lot and no curbs, though. Kid-friendliness: I didn't read the menu in that section, but there were several little kids there. High chairs available and plain paper placemats to draw on, People looked like it was okay for their families. Wheelchair accessibility: easy to get in through door, but too tight between tables to get through inside. I did it with a cane, but anyone using a wheelchair probably couldn't. maybe if you call ahead and let the know with a reservation?
It used to be a nice place to eat a steak but the are not the same steak taste pretty bad
