The Place Fell Inn - Isle of Wight

This inn was recommended by a friend. Small but good menu. We sat in the elegant dining room away from the hubbub of the main bar. It was a bank holiday so staff were stretched but friendly nonetheless.

The Woolpack is a great pub. The food is really good. Freshly cooked, substantial and tasty. The service is can’t-do-enough. Highly recommend

After one of our party injured their ankle we had to make our way down the Eskdale valley and didn't reach the road until well after dark. We finally made it to the Woolpack Inn as they were about to close and they were super helpful! They agreed to fire up the kitchen to make us some of the best curry I've ever had and even agreed to drive us back to our car which was still at Wrynose pass. Very friendly and helpful staff, we absolutely intend to return here under better circumstances!

We made an impromptu stop off for lunch and a walk along the river before negotiating the pass. Down to earth pub, friendly helpful service and excellent food: varied choices for all dietary needs, home cooked and very tasty. Highly recommend

Fantastic stay as part of a “boys” group (all over 50! . Rooms and bathrooms were great and best full English’s I’ve had.
