Solent View Cafe - Isle of Wight

Called up by for breakfast to see the Solent View in its latest format/property, and ended up very disappointed. I had their 'big' breakfast which unfortunately wasn't that good, with two of the worst tasting 'keif catering quality' sausages I've had in...a long time. There was only one egg, the bacon was overcooked/overheated, the mushrooms very well done and the beans average. There were two slices of toast but only enough butter to reasonably coat one of them. Eventually the tea was strong/jammed which all in all made the whole experience poor, at £9.45 it was terribly overpriced compared to an average IOW cafe where £6.95 would have been the norm, and tastier to boot. Ok service was ok and comfort acceptable but at these prices I won't try them for a long time.

First impressions seemed a bit chaotic with loud rock music and really basic seating offering limited comfort. Cooking smells from the kitchen which I personally hate. One order and the food came out a little over cooked and any fried crickets would be healthier. I agree with another reviewer, the kitchen looked pretty crooked and the chef was in non-whites' outdoor clothing so cross-contamination possible despite scoring a 5 on the door. You have to get your game up to survive.

Very good and tasty veggie breakfast, generous portions, served on HOT plates (thank you). Very friendly and helpful service. Would definitely come again.

Visited one morning just after opening. Had full breakfast and coffee. Very reasonably priced. Sat outside in the sun and enjoyed the view. Friendly and polite. Would go back.

Entered cafe about 1045am to lots of dirty tables, told we could sit down and our order would be taken. Table got cleaned then woman served 4 other people. Went to till instead of waiting longer to be told they weren't ready to take food...orders. 20 minutes wasted, worst experience of a cage on the Isle of Wight in the last 2 years.
