Ryde Tandoori - Isle of Wight

I recently went to this restaurant with a friend. It was quiet because it was a weekday. The staff were friendly and assisted me in selecting dishes from the menu. The flavors were fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place.

I was blown away by the food and the service at Ryde Tandoori, they really exceeded my expectation. The dansak top tier I'll tell you that. Overall the vibe was spot on, Its no surprise the restaurant has been around since the 1960s. Definitely would eat here again!

Take away..5 pieces of lamb and half litre of oil..really disappointed with lamb madras and taste was just any base curry and expensive and price misleading as on the window is cheaper than the price on their take away menu inside

The experience was quite disappointing. The service was impolite and hurried. The food was decent, but I have tried better tasting Indian cuisine in other places, nothing exceptional. The management and staff should reconsider their business tactics and customer service approach. The atmosphere was unwelcoming. Not at all like the excellent Tamarind in Newport.

Service very rushed, as local business owners in a similar trade we found the service adequate the young chap serving us was very nice, however the food was below par, and I ordered a nice bottle of wine and was served a glass of a very poor bottle from the shop next door, £3 a bottle in Iceland. Without being told. I questioned it and was give a discount costing us £13 for the bottle for a £3 bottle! As a sommelier myself I wasn't happy. When I said I wasn't happy at the end of the meal I said we will leave I was told to get out, he told me to leave and took the wine etc still half full away. I will be writing to local press as I have done before.
