Rosticeria La Mexicana - Isla Mujeres

It’s been 9 years since my last trip to Isla, and this spot is Consistently delicious! Probably one on the best values on the island when you’re looking for carry out food!

The original chicken rotis operation in the north end of Isla, with the owner 's mom running a second spot on The Strip (Hidalgo St. , come early as the fresh chicken usually runs out by 4 PM. Always fresh, tasty, and offered with black beans, tortillas, rice, and the owner 's special sauce offered up in minimalistic fashion in a number of thin plastic bags. You won 't be disappointed!

The original location, the second place on Hidalgo uses the same perfected technique operated by the founder 's suegra (mother-in-law). We always get two or three chickens, artfully snipped into segments, from our old friend on Guerrero who has been dazzling us with his product and sides for over a decade. Rosticeria Yucatan chicken is good Yucatan chicken! Look out for the woman on the wall as you walk along the street when you see her, the Rosticeria's a small place tucked in amongst the others on the opposite side. Beers are cold too, and it's all reasonably priced...
