Kash Keken Chuc - Isla Mujeres

I drove by this place every day for a week before I gave it a try. It's a local place on a corner and it looks really authentic. And it is. First, the smell draws you in. As they cook/grill the pork and chicken, the smell is like an incredible backyard BBQ. It permeates the neighborhood as the smoke billows in the air. We elected to try a half kg of the pork for my wife and me. I stink at math and forgot that that's more than a pound of meat for the two of us, but we managed. It came with tortillas, rice, and beans, and then a number of ways to sauce it up. That was all nice, but my favorite way to enjoy the food was to pick up pieces and just eat them without anything on them. It's just that good. And as for the wait staff, they were incredibly helpful, working their way through my broken (really broken) Spanish so that we got what we wanted. They checked on us continually throughout the meal, so any comments about rude staff must have this place confused with somewhere else. They seemed to do a ton of takeout and delivery. There were stacks of filled to-go containers at the counter and the delivery guys were really busy. Try it. It's amazing.

Walk the extra block i promise its worth it. The employees here are totally rude and don't care about your order at all. The food isn't worth the walk. Needless to say won't be back.

We got a tip that this was the place to go to get a chicken taco dinner to go for cheap. We stopped by got a whole roasted chicken cut up) tortillas, bean sauce, lettuce, brown sauce, and rice. It was bagged up and ready before we had a change made. Fast, delicious and super easy. Highly reccomend.

We go here every year! We buy their pork by the kilo, bring it to our villa and have many breakfasts with it. They provide rice, beans, salad, hot sauce, and corn tortillas. We decline the tortillas and go to Cheddrauri and buy a bag of flour tortillas. This pork is so incredible!

We ordered a chicken and a half kilo of ribs. Came with wonderful sides and was very delicious! The delivered to our hotel so quickly, that we were in shock!
