LOCATION/AMBIANCE We took a while circling the plaza to find this place since there's no sign outside yet. Currently it's the same company as King Chops so if you see that, it's inside. I think the owner is either rebranding or creating a new brand within. Does not have dine in option currently but might later? They play Chinese pop music so that's fun. FOOD we wanted to try this to see how Taiwanese it would be : We ordered Spicy beef noodle soup, Minced pork rice and Popcorn chicken. All delicious!! The noodles were round and perfectly chewy. Flavor was also amazing and spicy with great fullness. Beef tendons were tender and yummy too. The popcorn chicken was perfect and we loved it! Just like the ones we like. Crunchy and juicy and flavor packed. We'll be back to try more: this might be our new place!
This restaurant is more suitable for takeout than dining in. There isn't much service to mention. The beef stew with rice seemed to be microwaved and overall, I would not recommend this place.
Situated inside King Chops, Pang Shi Fu offers delicious and budget-friendly Taiwanese takeout options. The menu features items ranging from $5.50 to $14.95. My family and I tried the following dishes: spicy herbal beef noodle soup, which had a delightful and strong beef flavor with a spicy kick, soft tendon, flavorful daikon, tender beef, and perfectly cooked noodles; braised pork rice, which was only $8 and had flavorful braised pork in a savory brown sauce served with pickled mustard greens, a tea egg, and corn; and curry beef short rib rice, which was also delicious and came with pickled cabbage and corn, along with large chunks of soft potato. The service was quick and friendly, with our food arriving in just 10 minutes. Currently, they only offer takeout options.
The restaurant is located in Kingchops, Irvine and is difficult to find without a visible logo outside. Dear owner, it took me over 15 minutes to locate the restaurant on a hot 90 degree day. I suggest improving the signage to make it easier for customers to find. Kingchops is unique in its own way, but it may be confusing to customers if they are not familiar with the concept of a ghost kitchen.
