Union Cafe - Ipanema (pontal do Paraná

We arrived at the Union Cafe a little bit late, but it wasn't busy at our arrival. Bryce was our server and we were greeted immediately by Vic. Our drinks were very good and our service was excellent. Then we ordered our dinner and it was delicious. We were there almost two hours. We were treated with respect and everyone was very friendly. I would highly recommend the Union Cafe for your drinks, appetizers, and your meal. We have never been disappointed. Thanks for everything and looking forward to go there the next time in town. Vic always greets us with a friendly smile and hug and then always is there when we leave to thank us for coming and tell us to be careful until we return next time. Very nice.

Always a wonderful experience at Union Cafe! The staff is marvelous and the entertainers are fabulous! Shout out to Vic who always makes sure we have what we need!!! Thank you all.

Worst cup of coffee I’ve ever had which is disappointing for brunch. Almost like they could only spare a teaspoonful to make a pot for the table.

Drinks were good (but can be on the strong side) but unfortunately the experience was ruined by Jason O. They came by once to let us know it was closing time at 2:15 am which is totally valid as it was after close but worthy noting that a last call had not been announced so the time was not on our mind. They came back again at 2:20, clapped in me and my friend’s face saying that “we can continue our conversation outside” yet didn’t take away the empty cup in front of me or do anything to help clear tables/the area around the bar, in fact they asked one of the sweetheart bartenders to stop cashing patrons out and to clear tables instead. There was no way for Jason to know that we were not waiting on an rideshare to get home and it is safer to wait indoors rather than on the street which makes it rude and irresponsible. Ineffective management and rude customer service is not conducive for a healthy work environment and business. If I were Union, I would consider offering leadership management training to Jason if they are to continue in a (what I assume is a) management role.

Loved their Zucchini Fries and the Calamari! The Long Island Thursdays are amazing as well, and it seems like every drink is a double, lol. But I did wish the atmosphere had more of a theme and was more accepting of people on the lgbtq+ spectrum rather than just the typical gay guys. Now that it's 2024, I think more than half the bars in columbus are accepting of whatever and that everyone is welcome wherever and will be catered to as the same.
