Daydrink - Iowa City

Savor the figgy drink (with espresso) in a bright, plant-filled setting. The owner is wonderful, the coffee is excellent, and the atmosphere is fantastic.

I absolutely love Daydrink! If you're visiting for the first time, it can be a bit tricky to locate, so just follow your Maps and walk through Basic Goods, the plant and gift shop, to find Daydrink. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, which was great for someone like me who was new to the place. The atmosphere is fantastic, featuring small two-person tables by the window, all surrounded by greenery. They offer light bites, but don’t expect a full meal. Coffee is served in glass jars, which you can return for a discount, or feel free to bring your own reusable cup.

As we travel across the country, we always make it a point to stop in towns and check out the local coffee shops. Our latest stop was Daydrink in Iowa City, and we're so glad we chose this fantastic corner café! We enjoyed a delicious latte and even had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners. Our connection with Michael was truly special! We can't wait to exchange coffee recommendations, discuss our life goals and travel plans, and hopefully visit you in Oregon someday! They have the BEST matcha in town. They even prepare it as you would in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. I am a huge fan of matcha and have never bought such good cafe matcha. 11/10.

The best coffee shop in the area and these guys can compete with the best baristas in the nation (and they do, in actual competitions). Their choice of coffee beans (some of which are roasted in house) is great and they do espresso and espresso drinks really well. Unlike most coffee shops, these guys use light/medium roasted specialty coffee for their espresso which makes the (oat) milk based drinks even more complex and not bitter.In addition, the warm atmosphere and friendly staff make it a perfect spot to unwind. I highly recommend this coffee shop for a delightful coffee experience! ?????
