Contribuiți la feedbackVisited for an anniversary dinner was highly disappointed. As this hotel is a 5 star you would expect the food to be executed to a 5 star standard which it was not. Had to ask for a drinks menu after sitting down, menu basic and lacking flavours. Eaten in many good restaurants and found this to be very disappointing. Save yourself and book into the Rocpool Restaurant by the river the food standard there compared to the reserve is alot better. The whole place is very tired and the decor here hadn't changed from when i last visited 8 years ago. I will definitely not be visiting again. It was the potential to be a really nice place but the atmosphere/food/ decor speaks for itself.
We booked the ‘Extra Decadent Room’ at a cost of $797 Australian, breakfast included. This was because of the verandah and hot tub I believe. The staff were so lovely and friendly. Exceptional. My husband said the omelette he had for breakfast was the best he has ever had. I do have concerns for people with mobility issues as they will find it difficult to get in and out of the shower (as it is in the bath and a big step down). Also, the internet did not work in our and this made it difficult to access emails about our trip home etc., and the air conditioner did not work. We were recommended this hotel and we can see how it has immense charm and service.
Wonderful customer service, great location, and delicious food! We were greeted at our car when we pulled up, helped with our luggage, and provided with an upgraded room. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning on a trip to Inverness.
I had a recommendation to try the restaurant from a colleague, so I decided to treat my wife to a nice meal out one evening while on a weekend break. We did not stay at the hotel, so we can't comment on the rooms. The restaurant was quiet, cosy, clean, and well decorated.the staff were very polite and attended to our needs efficiently as appropriate. The food was amazing, and we were given some complimentary hors d'ouvres before starters. I had the crab to start, followed by the salmon, then the cheesecake for dessert. All, beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. All accompanied with a lovely glass of wine. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I'm glad I took the recommendation, as I would recommend it too.
Two stars for the kind service, not that we were given an opportunity to taste our 2016 bottle before it was being poured. In short: the crab and chicken liver appetizers were good and ok. The salmon main was great, the beef cheeks three orders were a disaster. A burnt shallot sauce ruined a mediocre plate. The potato thing was luke warm, a cross between roasted and fried. The neat itself had a sour flavor while overcooked into blandness. But the sauce of beef jus and shallots was simply burnt. I sent it back, but while our table of four agreed on it being burnt, the kitchen did not acknowledge it. Shame on the chef, shame on the manager.
