Went here for dinner and ordered a medium well steak. The waiter couldn’t keep up with the tables he had never asked if we wanted a different drink than water. He brings me my steak and it looks good but when I cut it open it **** so I ask him to take it back and just cook it a little more. I figured a higher end restaurant you wouldn’t be so scared to but I was wrong he brings me a new steak that is all fat except 3 bits. 55.00 for three pieces of steak. A lot goes into a great dining experience and Oscar Penns Restaurant hits all the marks! Friendly and knowledge servers and staff, daily specials that are truly special, and some of the best prepared food in the area. Love the scallops, and their twist on prime rib is top notch! Highly recommended. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Seafood Risotto, Caesar Salad, Roast Prime Rib of Beef Au Jus
I had a fantastic gourmet dinner at this restaurant. The feta stuffed bacon wrapped dates were delicious as a starter, followed by a house sangria, Caesar salad, bread slices with creamy butter, and perfectly boiled filet lobster oscar. The garlic spinach was a wonderful addition to the meal. Dining under the old oak tree covered in Spanish moss, with a soft breeze in the air and the sounds of a guitarist playing in the background, made for a truly incredible dining experience. I highly recommend it - every penny is worth it!
First and foremost, I have to say that the food at this restaurant is quite good. We ordered prime rib with Caesar salad, sushi, spinach artichoke dip, and stuffed salmon. The stuffed salmon came with risotto that had a very sweet drizzle over it, which I would prefer to skip in the future. Overall, everything else was average to good. However, the ambience of the restaurant left much to be desired. Despite the expensive steakhouse prices (we spent $130 for 2 people), the interior decor and furniture seemed cheap. Our table was in poor condition and looked like it had been used by a group of elderly men for decades in a basement. Walmart curtains were used to separate dining areas, and I had a less than ideal view of an industrial floor mat while eating. I find it hard to justify the prices when the atmosphere is lacking.
