Contribuiți la feedbackBefore the departure interlaken we drove to lunch. we ordered burger and a milkshake, and they were quickly served by a friendly waiter at our table. I could customize my burger and remove cheese, which is appreciated as I can't eat it. there was ac so we could cool off on a very hot day. definitiw an option if they are in the city.
We had stopped by at Mc Donald's to grab lunch during our trip to Interlaken. Hoping to see something similar to the other McD outlets on the menu, I must say, we were a little taken aback. It's possible that the menu is customised for...the locals, but it gave very very limited options for vegetarians/vegans. They only had one salad, and that was mostly lettuce. They also had some fries, of course! It was good for a quick bite. But, in case you're a vegetarian looking for a proper, filling meal, I suggest you look elsewhere. Having said that, I must compliment the quality of their fries and vegetables. They're so fresh and delicious. You do have desserts too! So, this place is ideal for an evening snack or a light dinner. It's also located close to the bus and train stations of Interlaken.
Been to so many McDonald's all over the world. My kid simply wants lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on the burger. There is simply no way to order this at this McDonald's, because you're restricted to ordering over the self-serve screen and there is no burger on the menu that has these ingredients. A person working there was nice enough to walk through the self-serve ordering, and he also gave up and acknowledged that you cannot order this here. The owners/managers of this McDonald's have gone to lengths to make sure you cannot do counter order, where this would be easy, and they also do not allow for any simple customizations, even after knowing that the computer options are limited where my basic order can't be fulfilled.
We always fancy a meal at McDonald's when we're abroad, especially when food is so expensive in Switzerland. We came to this Interlaken West branch for a quick bite as it's just opposite to our hotel. We ordered 2 Filet-O-Fish meals a Big Mac. The fishes were tasty, crispy not over cooked. The Big Mac tasted beefy too. The obvious difference to those McDonald's in the UK were the breads they used, as the Swiss' McDonald's were more soft bouncy. We went to the counter to order due to we wanted to pay cash. But the manager told us off just pointed her finger to the self order machine even we didn't know how to pay cash on a machine. It was a bit rude but I think it's just the language barrier. What I also didn't like was the size of package of ketchup, they were so tiny so we had to purchase about 7 bags at the end. Afterall, we were on a holiday so we were in a good mood even when the service was bad.
We ordered couple of veggies burgers and they were good. Few things that I was new to were extra ketchup costs extra money, hot chocolate comes with hot milk and separate cocoa. Portion size is not as big as we get here in US.
