Contribuiți la feedbackWe ate here twice while staying nearby (Couetilliec Cottages/Brittany Cycle Tours). Our boys were made welcome with a child friendly (but still good cooking) 'Menu Enfant' (€12) and we chose from the delicious 'Terroir' & 'Gourmand' set menus offering a small selection of perfectly prepared meat fish and vegetarian dishes. 3 courses each plus half bottle wine €125)They have a kitchen garden by the river, pigs in the forest and the view is green & leafy. Don't forget your French dictionary.Bon Appetit!
In July 2016 my wife and I went to this restaurant, the location is wonderful, one can sit by a river in the shade on a hot sunny day and drink a little wine and just relax. We decided to have a little something to eat, but as we had planned a large meal in the evening we just wanted to have a snack. We had eaten at this restaurant before and so we were a little wary of the portion sizes which to be fair wouldn't feed an undersized dwarf but we thought let's give it one more try, and see if they had improved on the portions. We each asked for the cheese dish which was priced at Euro9 and we asked for a carafe of wine, the restaurant only sells wine by the glass or a bottle which costs an arm and a leg, so I asked for two glasses of red wine. The cheese tuned up which consisted of three shavings of cheese on each plate plus a salad leaf. Each of the pieces of cheese had rind on them, by the time that had been removed we were left with three postage stamp pieces of cheese, not only an insult but a complete and utter rip off for the money. Far from improving on the portions it seems this restaurant has reduced them yet again. Please take my advice if you want next to nothing to eat at about Euro35 to 45 per head for the prix fixe excluding wine try the place out. I doubt whether you'll ever do it again!Needless to say we refused the cheese plate, paid and left, and we shan't be going back again.
We were so surprised. Our expectations were not too high. But we were so happy to have taken the trip to this off-the-road restaurant. Our dinner was delicious. The chef would more than hold his own in midtown manhattan. The grounds are beautiful. The views from the dining room are so rustic and incredibly "Bretagne". The only downside would be the stark white dining room. But overall, we left with buying a €100 Gift card for our family to enjoy when we leave. Thumbs up!!!!!
Once again the team at the Auberge de Pont Calleck have produced a memorable birthday meal. everything was faultless and matched previous experienced high standards. the lunch menu represents fantastic value, with coffee and drinks priced sensibly, and of course the setting by the river, currently running fast and high, was a delight. Beautiful food in wonderful surroundings. Limited English spoken by staff (fair enough!!) so ordering was fun!! Take a phrase book! Don`t feel you have to opt for the expensive menu option. The cheapest was just as good. Nice to see the chef picking our veg from the garden! Cheap menu was about £15 without drinks.
