Teuer u doesn't hold what it promises! Expect for the price more. So I can also go to the Italian around the Exke for less money and equal performance
Very good food, pleasant ambience, normal prices, mixed audience.
We stayed in Ingolstadt on our way home from summer holidays. The restaurant has a nice terrace and staff is very friendly and dedicated. Quality of food varied quite a lot: tunafish-entry, vitello tonato and housemade ravioli were superb! Grillef fish on spinach was not what we understood under 'carte blanche'. Dessert was rather mainstream. So good, probably one of the better places in the city, but worth a detour...
We visited the factory outlet nearby and were hungry for some refined food. The recommendations on TripAdvisor helped us make our choice. We cannot say whether this is the best restaurant in Ingolstadt as we have not been to any other yet but it is worth the detour.Reservation was easy and the table was ready when we arrived, some 20 minutes after the call. The location is close to the city center, so be aware that parking might be difficult. The decoration is modern and very tasteful. Tables are well dressed with white tablecloth, this shows you that there is a willingness to do a good job. Service was generally good and knowledgeable, although we found differences among the staff as far as knowledge about the food and the wines is concerned. The menu looked appealing and we opted for the menu surprise with three dishes. I had expected that the cook would excel in his profession but I found the selection a bit classic and not really adventurous. You have the choice between fish and meat and so it is either or. We ordered wine which is difficult when you do not know what you are being served. It would be better for the restaurant to offer a selection of wines by the (small) glass to go with each dish. As we wanted to share the dishes, serving them one after another in half portions would also be worth considering. The fish menu was a salad of shrimps and octopus which was delicate, followed by salmon which was good. The meat menu was vitello tonato followed by braised beef. I am not a fan of vitello but the beef was very good.
