They get four stars because they were out of aot of food, but the borracho nachos are bomb and the atmosphere is dope. Its probably better at night, so maybe I'll be back. I don't live here though. If I did, I would be a regular.
I was in downtown Indio early one morning and saw some employees erecting a Menudo banner outside. I had to ask where the business was located because their signage was rather obscure. I went inside and discovered a lovely coffee bar that served a variety of drinks, including several different latte options. I ordered an iced Mazapan latte...never tried Mazapan before. It was unique and delicious. They also serve food and beer, including a ceviche bar and chavela bar and have a large patio where they host live music in the evenings. Different food trucks line up on the street near the patio throughout the day. Very cool place.
It was a good coffee, but over priced for a simple coffee with creamer. But the taste for the coffee was good.
Sometimes I wonder how the world sees the Coachella valley and how different it must be from the way certain people on the east side of it see it. Indio in particular, given it 's the home of one of the nation 's largest music festivals, do the foreign onlookers see the slow motion advertisements with neon dressed free wheelin ' desert people and think, is it really so lush? Is it really so green? Is it really so magical? So cool and crisp in a windy desert air that softens the blow of the sun, is it really that lit? . Well usually I 'd say hell to the nizzo it 's a place that 'll put you under the kind of heat that is merciless but in THIS particular place and case, YES it really is that magical! The Indio food park somehow managed to capture Indio 's essence and if you 'd consider its self description then you know. Yes the Indio Food Park delivers the true festive spirit, after all Indio is the city of festivals, and it can get pretty vivid and dreamy out here on the right day. The huge patch of grass, the outdoor seating arrangements, the chavela variations, the A for effort kind of local food trucks that ya can 't help but gladly support, it 's a wholesome set up. It 's also always been a place I 've been eyeballing for meh band @towntroublez) to play at and they do have a leetle stage where DJs and bands have started popping up. Had there had been no pandemic, one can only wonder where in this place 's development it 'd stand at currently, but as the Indio food park continues on its upward path, it 's exciting to see where it 'll be. Who 's had the pizza?
