My boyfriend and I were visiting from Louisville and wanted something different we found it! Yats was a perfect end to a good day. We appreciated the history of the establishment and always aim to support locally owned eateries. Yats is clearly a community staple as it was an hour to close and they were decently busy without being chaotic. Easy to park, we ordered and had food within 3 minutes of walking in. The food was great, and packaging held up well for the ride home for leftovers. We had the gumbo and chili cheese étouffée with crawfish. Highly recommend.Parking: Paid parking during the day, meters for street
I went during lunch. As expected there was a line. It went pretty quick. The food was delicious. You can't go wrong with anything. Definitely recommend to everyone.Food: 5/5
Only a few options for vegetarians, but they were delicious. We had the B&B and the spinach and mushroom etouffee. Both were excellent and affordable.Food: 5/5
Yats is amazing, but this is their worst location. The Mass Ave location consistently has watery, undercooked rice and very few of the classic Yats dishes (how is there almost never red beans smoked sausage? Sad! .If you can visit any other location, I'd recommend doing that. But service is fast here, and the bread is great, so it's still a decent value.
This place has gone downhill. Ordered half and half red beans and drunken chicken. All the rice was under the red beans which I ate first. Then had no rice for the drunken chicken side. They asked me if I wanted extra bread and I was tempted as I had fond memories of the bread from previous visits. They served stale bread and plopped in right in the middle of my entree so it was covered in slop. They used to use a bigger container but they switched to a smaller one with nowhere in the package to put the bread. And how much is bread food cost that they feel compelled to serve old stale bread. Especially when it used to be so good. This is the second or third time this place has been disappointing. Definitely won’t go to the Mass Ave location again.
