Taste Café Marketplace - Indianapolis

I was quite disappointed during my latest visit. The front-of-house staff weren't as friendly as I remembered, and it took almost 90 minutes for our three relatively simple entrees to arrive at our table. The dining area also felt a bit neglected. On the bright side, the food was quite good; the deep dish strata was excellent. I really hope this experience was just a one-time occurrence, as this place used to be one of my favorite weekend spots.

This restaurant has a truly upscale ambiance. The gourmet dishes are impressive and quite delicious. The service is generally decent, although it can get quite crowded at times. The staff is friendly and attentive, which adds to the experience. However, the noise in the kitchen can be distracting, and I noticed some arguments among the employees, which was a bit off-putting. Overall, despite these minor issues, it’s a pretty good place to dine!

As for the food itself, it was unappetizing, with a strange grey color and little flavor. Additionally, the juice I ordered was chunky, indicating that their juicer or blades need to be replaced. Overall, it was a very negative experience, especially considering the restaurant's apparent potential. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

Food is amazing. One of the best in this area. However, the service isn’t great and occasionally the servers are downright rude. Showed up to eat once at 6:20 and they weren’t open yet (supposed to open at 6 that particular day). I thought aboutgiving 3 stars but the food is too good for that. Edit: they seem to have a problem keeping the silverware clean, also. Food isstill good! Edit 2: food is going downhill. Egg sandwich comes on a hamburger bun. Lox bagel came on the least everything-bagelwe’ve ever seen. Potatoes are very greasy with little seasoning. Downgraded to 3 stars and we probably won’t come back. Theprice is too high for the food, service and cleanliness of this place.

We started to notice that our waitress seemed to be avoiding us while serving the guests at the tables next to us. This continued for another 10 minutes, and by 7:25, we decided to collect our things and leave. It was disappointing that our waitress had not approached us at all in the 20 minutes since we arrived. Fortunately, we went to Meridian and found a spot at the bar, where we were treated to excellent service and delicious food. I just wish we hadn’t wasted so much time at the first restaurant.
