Contribuiți la feedbackI'm glad I visited Shoefly twice before writing my review. My first visit was to try the ramen they have available on Tuesdays. While it was essentially enjoyable, I was put off by the $19 price tag. I added pork belly as the dish itself is vegetarian, which accounts for some of the cost, considering actual ramen places around Indy don't charge that much I was surprised. My second trip was a birthday dinner and I was very pleased with their offerings. The most memorable part of my ramen experience was the delicious pork belly, so I immediately looked for it in another dish. At first I didn't see it and ordered their bison burger. Then, tucked away, a friend and I saw a special Savor Downtown menu. Lo and behold! A pork belly entree. So...we chased down our server and changed our orders. This turned out to be a great decision! The Savor menu also included an appetizer and dessert. The yucca fritters were nicely fried yet soft inside. I loved the contrasting textures and the dipping sauce on the side. I could go on for days about the pork belly, which was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The sauce was Maker's Mark-based and had a smokey quality to it. Really good with the bok choy. For dessert I had a chocolate chip cookie cheesecake, which seemed like cookie and cake without the creaminess of cheesecake, but was still good. Shoefly is a good choice for parties with differing dietary needs/tastes. There's something for everyone on the menu, including kids.
Had the chance to go back to this place and eat some of the awesome food, my friends wanted snacks and a non club vibe so I suggested shoefly. It was late enough that there wasn't a ton of people. All of the food was so dang tasty! We had fries with garlic parmesan and great dipping sauces. Pasta nachos, that may sound odd, but worth trying, very flavorful! The goat cheese flat bread is something I could of had 7 slices of, but wanted to be a good dining partner and share with others. We also had some corn bread to finish off everything and it was tasty as well, I'd love to try it with some chili! You can also have local beers or something from a little further south. The brown note from Louisville Kentucky was so prefect for a cold night although the can is kind weird. Our waiter was amazing, someone who genuinely enjoys what he does. Love shoefly! Can't wait to go back
The food at Shoefly is inventive pub food and a great place to bring your vegetarian friends. We have continued to patronize this business during the Covid-19 crisis since the restaurant has made placing an online order so very easy. The curb-side pick up makes it quick and safe. Even better, you can get groceries from them and beer and wine. Score! Some of my favorite menu items are: 1. The potato fries tossed in parmesan and garlic. Hands down the best fries in the city. Really enjoy them with the hickory dijon sauce. 2. The Hoosier sandwich. Pork and apple are always a lovely flavor combo. The pork is always so juicy. 3. Dessert. Never had one that I wasn't extremely please with. 4. The tacos. Another item in which I have loved every variation they come up with. They traditionally have outdoor seating on the side of their building. I hope this returns with the slow lifting of covid-19 precautions. It is a nice spot to bring the family on a sunny day.
I really liked this place! We started with spiced house chips and a dip of onions and ramps. It was super good, but the dip portion was small. However, with most of our chips left, we asked for a lil more and they happily obliged. A had the most amazing Shrimp and Grits. It was surprisingly spicy, but not overwhelming. I can handle some heat and was in heaven, but it might be a touch too spicy for the average guest. My date had the No Meatloaf and it looked amazing. I would like to get that next time. Their menu was just so unique and creative that I can't promise myself that! The outside is lovely, but I'm not a huge fan of dining outside. It's very welcoming, though. The limeade is so much yum. Wow.
Came to socialize with some friends but had a small meal prior so unfortunately, could not eat a full meal here which was my biggest regret because the small bites/apps that I ordered were phenomenal!!!! Left me wanting more even though I was stuffed. I love the variety of items they offer here, not what I expected at all. I ordered the Brussels sprouts fried rice, yucca fries, and duck wings. The fried rice was the perfect amount of greasy and fragrant and garlicky. The yucca fries were fried to an ideal crisp and topped with a great blend of parmesan with a creamy sauce. The duck wings were sticky and giant and perfect for the combination of dishes we ordered. I can't wait to come back here!
