Sahara - Indianapolis

Our family of four dropped by for a quick meal. As always, the owner was friendly and welcoming. The food was delightful. My five-year-old son enjoyed his falafel sandwich, while my daughter really liked the tea service. We also took some baklava home to enjoy later. It's one of my favorites—just the right amount of sweetness and topped with crushed pistachios.

Sahara's food is exceptionally flavorful and perfectly balanced. During this visit, we kept it simple with the baba ganoush, chicken shawarma, and gyro, all of which were delicious. However, the highlight was the warm hospitality from the owner. My sister and I were the only patrons during a quieter time, and he surprised us with basbousa, fragrant rose water black tea, and lovely conversation. The entire meal was a heartwarming experience that I would rate a 7 out of 5 stars if I could!

I had the Gyros Plate which included hot pita bread, Hummus, Gyros meat, tzatziki sauce, rice, and salad. A very complete meal, and everything was fixed perfectly. No ice, brewed tea, or fountain drinks, but they do have a variety of bottleddrinks. Bottom line: delicious food and a nice ambiance. Highly recommended.

The BEST gyro in the city! I returned less than a week after my first visit because I was craving it so much. The second time, we placed a pickup order, and I swear, when I went inside to pick up my food and pay, the owner (I think it's a family-run business with a father and son) generously gave me free sodas AND free baklava. And let me tell you, it was the best baklava I’ve ever had—I'm not exaggerating. The phyllo layers were perfectly flaky, and the crunch of the pistachios was an incredible texture. I'm typically not one to talk with my mouth full, but I couldn't help exclaiming "Oh my GOD" after every bite. Their hummus is also outstanding, and the fries, though simple, are delicious. These guys have truly perfected every item on their menu. I will definitely be adding this place to my regular dinner outings!
