Wasn't open when it said it would be and nobody was around to help. The location was also quite unclear. Hoping to revisit when able.
Safe...clean..great selection...way better than the homeless camp..called Starbucks
This cafe is conveniently located near a grocery store and has a good atmosphere with a nice view. There is plenty of seating and table space, and it is not expensive. However, the latte I ordered was mediocre, which was a disappointment. The cafe is run by Needler's grocery and is a good spot for people watching on Mass Ave. The 16oz latte I bought for $3.61 was on par with Starbucks quality, but the milk had soap-like foam bubbles from being scalded. The drink was served in two cups to help insulate, but it seemed wasteful. Despite expectations of rotating local bean roasters, the overall experience fell short. With some improvements, this cafe could be excellent. However, with two great coffee shops nearby, I would be hesitant to choose Lemon's again.
It's almost unfair that Mass Avenue gets so many high quality places to eat/shop. I would have missed this one if not for the keen eye and reviewing of some Yelp friends who let me know. First benefit is that it is located within Needler's grocery, so you have free parking in their lot for 2 hours. That's right next to Mass Avenue. No meters. No hunting. No having to back out into oncoming traffic. This is a great place to take care of business! Next, it has direct access from Alabama Street with large windows for people watching if you like that sort of thing. You can step right off the Cultural Trail and refuel right here. The place has a variety of ready to eat lunch options and lots of beverages to choose from too. Want some fruit to go with your meal? There is a full grocery to choose from right there!! And, if you like all those things, wait until you try the goodies they sell in the central island of the cafe. A friendly woman was working there and answered my questions, checking to make sure I got the exact item that caught my eye before ringing my order. They have large muffins, cannolis, beautiful icing works of art that have cupcakes under them, and cookies. Oh, and they sell coffee too! What are you waiting for, an invitation? Okay, you are invited!! Review #3208
