Forty Five Degrees - Indianapolis

Great Sunday deal. I met up with a friend on her birthday at this restaurant for the first time. There was a group of about 13 of us, and it was a Sunday (they offer half priced sushi on Sundays , so it was jam packed. We had reservations, so a booth was prepared for us. Very nice atmosphere; young and fresh. The bar was nice. Purchased a mojito and a **** mary. Food took forever to come out, but it was understandable considering we were a big group who all ordered lots of sushi, and it was incredibly busy to begin with. Our server, Jordan, was prompt with drink refills and they did a great job prebussing the tables. For all the sushi we got, the bill was shockingly cheap (again, half priced sushi on Sundays! . I drove 75 miles to meet my friend here, and I am already planning on returning soon.

New guy 's impression of dining on Massachusetts Ave. Being new to this area, my wife and I wanted to really capitalize on the fact we have finally secured a babysitter for our twins by going out someplace fun. Massachusetts Ave seemed to have a lot of fun places, but she was in the mood for sushi, so Forty Five Degrees seemed to be a worthwhile venture.<br/ <br/ Walking in on a Wednesday night around 630pm, there was hardly anyone there. The music was bumping a loudy, thumpy mix of many contemporary songs mixmashed by a local DJ that advertised himself on flyers in the bathroom.<br/ <br/ After not noticing any hostess stand, we decided to find our own table. The tables are trendy and large, but sit in the booths for a couples date and you 'll scratch your head as to how best to sit, seeing as how they weren 't really in logical square or rectangle shapes. <br/ <br/ The waitress for the most part, friendly and well paced. The oddest comment of the night from her was 'I used to do babysitting but now that I work here, I don 't have to anymore. ' She seemed to be in her mid 30 's. Strange.<br/ <br/ So we ordered up 4 rolls which I can 't remember, but all of them were roughly $14, which I thought was a steal for a trendy looking place at this part of town. I also talked my wife into getting lettuce wraps expecting something similar to a PF Changs lettuce wrap. Nope, they weren 't. The chicken that came with them appeared to be like a pulled chicken with a sweet sauce/glaze covering it and some onions/peppers. It was decent enough.<br/ <br/ The sushi was somewhat of a let down. Not because it wasn 't expertly prepared, but more because it seemed so naked (as in, devoid of sauces). The best roll we got was one that was set on fire in front of us in its own tinfoil pouch, giving the roll the taste and apperance of just being on a grill. That was great for us. The other ones had very little sauce on them and tasted bland for the most part. My wife even had to break out the soy sauce for one of them that she ordered which is the equivelant of saying 'I can 't taste anything, so I 'd rather taste salt. '<br/ <br/ In the end, the waitress took her sweet time giving us our $86 (2 beers, appetizer, 4 rolls) bill which gave the cop outside enough time to write us a parking ticket for the meter that we were unaware of. Thanks city of Indianapolis!

Had dinner here last night for the first time. We only ordered Sushi, and were very pleased with our rolls. Normally on the pricy side, but on Sundays all sushi is half off. The dynamite and Corona rolls were our favorites.

Great restaurant... great atmosphere for decent prices. Love it!

I ate there last night and had a great dinner. I am taking some people back tonight and hope its as good.
