However, tucked away in the back, behind the registers and aisles, was a cozy bar area with a grill. This is where the real magic happens. I was drawn to a sign displaying just three menu options: Taco, Burrito, or Torta. I decided to try the asada burrito along with a Coke in a glass bottle. A burrito and a soda for only $5? It felt too good to be true, and I know that usually, the price reflects the quality of food. But as I watched them grill the tortilla and fill it with beautifully marbled, juicy meat, I quickly changed my mind. They carefully added just the right amount of meat, ensuring not to overload one side of the burrito. Next came a slice of tomato, fresh green lettuce, and a sprinkle of cheese. Just when I thought they were done, the chef sliced open a fresh avocado and scooped out half to add to my burrito. It was then gently rolled and handed to me. Not only was it visually appealing, but it surpassed my expectations given the price. Feeling thoroughly impressed, I sat down and noticed two sauces to my left: a red one and a green one. I typically opt for the red, which was a homemade smoky hot sauce that paired perfectly with the already delicious burrito. But I wasn't finished yet. I saw a small tin beside me filled with grilled serrano peppers. I decided to add one to my burrito for an extra kick. I savored each bite as time seemed to stand still; it was truly a divine experience. Once I finished, I disposed of my bottle, thanked the chef, and navigated around other customers with their shopping carts. Without a doubt, I will be returning soon!
I enjoyed the carne asada tacos - they were fantastic and very affordable! The salsa was delicious and incredibly spicy. I had trouble finding it at first, but the guy next to me kindly passed it along. I'm definitely planning to return. The grocery store is a great bonus as well; I might pick up some marinated meats on my next visit.
They have drinks in cold dispensers that keep the liquids circulating—I'm not sure what those are called. The options included pineapple water, cantaloupe water, rice water, and hibiscus water (known as Jamaica). None of these looked like regular water; they appeared more like juices. The rice water was actually Horchata, and it was fantastic! The staff spoke limited English but were very friendly, and the food was delicious and filling. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. There isn’t much seating available, but I will definitely be coming back!
Great service (depending on your waitresses, Daniela always goes above and beyond), restaurant is always super clean, not overpriced at all and food always delicious. Only thing I dislike is the green and red taco sauce, green not spicy and flavorless. Red sauce is spicy but not much favor. It would be nice if they had some tomatillo tacos sauce instead of chipotle.
