Wing Lee Chinese Restaurant

I have been going to Wing Lee for many years. I live in Tampa now, but when I am in KC I always go to Wing Lee, it is not a fancy place, but I love the walnut chicken.

It's my family's go to place for takeout! Always very friendly!

This place has been a staple in my life since back in the day-day. I don't get out to Independence much, but we made a trip that way and so we stopped in. It hasn't yet changed much. It's a smaller restaurant, the buffet is adequate and it generally taste good. They try to stock it as best they can given traffic but you'll see that a lot of take out orders hold back the buffet items a fair amount. The chicken for the sweet and sour, for instance, was empty upon arrival and it stayed that way due to the sheer volume of take out orders. And that's fine... It shouldn't reflect poorly on the establishment as the owners are nice and very inviting. Overall, it's consistent.

I ordered the Pu-Pu Platter and it did not disappoint. It filled me and had the taste buds wanting my money to buy mire!

Great selection. Wonderful buffet. Always something scrumptious to choose from. Never lets us down. Very friendly, always greet us when we come in. Great family friendly environment. Good desserts to choose from as well. Plus you can call in an order if you prefer. And you can always opt to buy an order to go from off the buffet. Always happy, polite, friendly, great service.
