Welch's Chocolate Shop

The bonbon were made with very very poor quality chocolate, although the ganache was not bad. The pate a fruit was extremely stale and old, very very hard on the edges- Same with the fudge.. To top it off there were literally five maybe even six staff members gathered around the ice cream area as I stood waiting for help for at least five minutes, I finally walked up to where they were and they looked at me like I had two heads. I had to ask if the candy shop was separate from the ice cream shop?? I could not imagine why all those staff members would just stand there and ignore a customer who clearly wanted to spend money.

This place has such potential to be locally and culturally unique but it really ends up being a tourist trap money pit. The chocolates are mediocre at best and the prices are outrageous, such as $5 for a peanut butter cup. This place is not worth visiting.

I am absolutely aghast! The only price that is on the entire fudge counter in this dark dingy dirty place is $7.95 but when you go to pay you have $18.95 ripped out of your bank account. This is a ripoff of such monumental proportions that it requires immediate intervention by the Better Business Bureau. Ripoff parlors like this are besmirching the beauties of the Park and they should be run out of business immediately for the sake of the reputation of the Park and all Albertans. Shame on you gougers. Oh, and the fudge was dried out on the edges and tasted of nothing but sugar. So for almost $20 you get BAD fudge at that! REVOLTING!

I got freshed up by the owner because we used the wrong door (exit door) we didn't even know we were supposed to go in using an expecific door. Once inside we were lost and confused as the place is so crowded with people and candy that we were not able 1.choose 2. Understand the price 3. Pay so we just left using the "right" door at this time.

Prices are no where to be found and we were charged $22 for 4 single scoops of icecream! I was so very upset and felt taken advantage of. Really unfortunate that Waterton lets a place of business be deceptive to customers.
