Love this dog friendly, elegant restaurant in a cute little town. There are two patios -front and back. The back patio in my opinion is a nicer seating area. They have a second floor interior seating as well. We stopped by here after visiting Ernie Maxwell (we live 3 hours away). They provided a seat pad for more comfortable seating. Staff loves dogs and they offer all dog their own bowl of water! Very sweet! Food and drinks we ordered were both good. Very big portion for the entree so we have big portion leftovers. Didn't get to try their dessert. Maybe next time if we visit the town again
I called in to put in an order for pick up. Brian was the one that answered the phone. He was friendly and attentive to my dietary requirements. He repeated my order back to me and gave me a time that it would be ready. Also, when I arrive to pick up my order, I was greeted kindly by Parker. Brian saw that I was there and immediately went into retrieve my order. Both of them were very friendly and warm! Wonderful employees!
I believe our waiter was Christian. He is just lovely and exudes warmth. Ferro made our anniversary special with a surprise card with our names on the envelop. What a human centric touch. We enjoyed a beautiful blueberry gelato desert with a candle celebrating our day. The ambiance is romantic as we sat in the back patio. Pizza was delish. My bolognese was exceptional. It had a slice of freshly baked bread they was not the normal tasting- it was a light crunch and taste wise a standout too. Thank you Ferro. We Idyllwild.
Tonight, my party of four experienced a series of disappointments at Ferro, culminating in an entirely unacceptable dining situation that forced us to leave. Our initial reservation, made three weeks in advance for the restaurant's acclaimed back deck, was mishandled. We received a call two days prior informing us of a mistake on their part and were shifted to indoor seating, which we accepted without fuss. Surprisingly, another call followed, offering us the original back deck seating, which we gladly accepted with assurances of adequate warmth. Upon arrival, our anticipation turned to dismay. We were ushered not to a cozy table for four but to an impractical, large triangular table suited for six. This setup made comfortable conversation impossible. Our request to be moved to a more appropriate table was flatly refused. It became painfully clear that the earlier calls and rearrangements were purely for the restaurant's convenience, showing a total disregard for guest comfort and expectations. Regrettably, we chose to leave rather than endure such a poorly managed and inconsiderate dining experience. It’s disheartening to witness a well-regarded establishment demonstrate such a lack of accommodation and accountability. I hope this feedback prompts Ferro to reevaluate their approach to customer service. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
