Contribuiți la feedbackLived up to every expectation. The brisket was the best I've ever had. The chicharrones were an unexpected item that really delivered. As with the chicharrones, the sides are clearly made by someone who understands the juxtaposition of texture and flavor to make an outstanding dish.Usually there's something to point out that they could improve but I can't even nitpick. This is the best barbecue I've had anywhere.
We pulled in by chance! Best meat I have ever put in my mouth. Place is perfect.
Best brisket ever! We drive almost 3 hours to eat here.
Drove 3 hours after reading the article in Texas Monthly and reading other’s reviews. Not worth the drive in my personal opinion. Arrived around 1pm and they were already sold out of everything but sausage which is not uncommon in the bar-b-que business however as we sat and ate we overheard them take several large call in orders for the next day. Now this may typically, he may need to adjust the amount he smokes to adjust for the increase of customers based on his recent Texas Monthly article. We got the smoked cheese grits and the white trash potato salad. The grits were decent, just your plain of the mill cheese grits topped with crushed cheez-it crackers, and the potato salad was just that, potato salad. The sausages were ok but nothing to write home about. Don’t expect to be able to use any facilities while you are there because there is none, unless there was an outhouse out back that I missed.
Not worth the drive for mediocre bbq and sides. I'll stick to Hutchin's in McKinney.
