The hotel is amazing! The breakfast buffet is the best in Peru and the view of lunch or dinner over the vineyard, if beautiful. Very luxurious!
A great place to have dinner outside of Ica or when staying in this secluded, private hotel of the Vineyards Santiago Queirolo, which is more than recommendable. The hotel is kept in the Hacienda style and it is a great place with pool, a view point over the vineyards, a tour of the pisco distillery, a lovely fire place. Unfortunately the beautiful glass encased restaurant overlooking parts of the vineyards of Queirolo, Perus largest vinery, serves nothing worth writing home about. With better food, the wonderful and inexpensive wines of Intipalka, Queirolos high marque wines, would be delightful to enjoy, while watching the sun slowly disappearing behind the wall of the Hacienda, and the vineyards disappearing in the dark. The mainstay dishes of the Peruvian cuisine are good, and probably the most memorable dish, though a little heavy for my taste, is the Ossobuco with Ravioli (if I am not mistaken on the side dish). The best part is probably the dessert and i would totally recommend those with the Brandy of Queirolo (an aged Pisco) taken in by the fireplace on a chilly evening on the vineyards (being almost a desert the evenings can really get cold here) The breakfast has improved a tad since the last visit, but for a four star hotel, I would expect the restaurant to offer food more to par with the hotel stars. Hopefully the freeway from Lima to Ica, soon to be concluded will allow for better ingredients to reach the hotel, and the food quality will improve, because the setting is really, really impressive and worth the stay in the hotel.
Don't go to Viñas Queirolo! Very bad service. We were at the gate, planned to enjoy the vineyard and have a diner. Because we had to wait 2 hours before the kitchen was opened, we had to pay 140 soles per person as an entrance. This is absolutely ridiculous and does not fit into a high-end hotel. Proposal: Go to Tacama instead. Great service, good food, great wines!
We drove from Paracas to know the hotel and eat there and we had a pretty bad experience. All started when I called the reservation, the woman who visited the call said several times that it was forbidden to use other services of the hotel (what she talked about going to the pool? In the rooms? Come on, also mentioning that a person would take us from the door to the restaurant and if they caught us elsewhere, would they charge us with 160? Listen to everyone. Was that a threat? Anyway, we accepted and drove there. When we arrived at the security check in the entrance, the guard could not find our reservation and had to call to check if we had one, he gave me the phone and I spoke again with a woman who repeated the same threats... We came to the hotel nervously to not go away from the street that takes you to the restaurant when we came there, we asked after the food that came wine and after 40 minutes we waited for the food. I tried to find the waiter and was not there, so I spoke to the first person I saw it was the cook who sadly said and went to the kitchen to check what was going on. The waiter had forgotten to order our food!!! And that wasn't the worst part... he came with a waitress and said I didn't order that was my mistake, obviously he was worried about losing his job, but it's a really bad idea that the customer lies. The food came after fifteen minutes and the cook gave us a starter as courtesy for the problem. We ate fast and silent and left the place as soon as we could. Generally, the staff is cold and makes the experience really bad. The food was fine, the wine was not so good, but the prices were normal for what you get. I felt like I was getting into a super exclusive place as if they did us a favor, but come, that is not Marques de Riscal or Lapostolle vineyards, so I suggest to be humbler and improve their customer service.
