Officially an hour in without the hibachi chef coming to our table despite us having a reservation. Seem like they only have one chef in the restaurant, yet they continue to seat more tables.
Food was tasty but our server was unfriendly and made us feel like she was doing us a favor being there. The man behind the sushi bar was nice.
Very poor experience. There were 4 adults and one child and as soon as we walked in, there seemed to be some confusion on where to sit us. One lady (the one who wears a mask but it’s pulled down to her chin why bother wearing one then? sat us at the table with the big fam for hibachi. As we started ordering, only one person in our group wanted hibachi and asked the others to sit apart at another table. apparently all of us had to order it and this was NOT mentioned in the menu nor upon us entering the restaurant. If it was mentioned prior to ordering or when we entered the restaurant that would have been fine. We ended up speaking to her in Chinese and she did apologize, however, after we had our sushi (6 pieces she came back and asked us if we wanted anything else, clearly she forgotten to put the rest of our order in. When one of our party went up to ask she said it’s coming. We had a fried noodle coming which comes with salad and soup which should have arrived with our fried calamari as an appetizer but it didn’t so that shows she clearly had JUST put the order in. There was a party of four that did not order any hibachi and were seated at the hibachi table. I saw because I was right in front of them. when the fried noodles came it was just chicken and noodles with soya sauce which took 3 minutes to cook! A terrible experience and will never patron again. We’ve been at the restaurant for nearly 1.5 hours and counting…
If you didn't know it was there, you would drive directly, but this inconceivable little restaurant is a jewel. Kobi House rightly deserves it 4 star rating. Came with a party of 5 1 child for an early dinner, we sat right away. The hostess was excellent, so attentive and friendly. Drinks came right away. The cocktails are strong and worth the price (coming from Boston, the cocktail prices are a steal)! I ordered the scorpion dish for one and it was strong, but very drinkable and huge. The katsu chicken was delicious, super crisp and hot. The Hibachi was fun, our cook was a good atmosphere. The food itself was really good! The rice was very well seasoned, tasteful and rich. The steak was well cooked, delicate. The portions were very good. This is not the most beautiful place, but it was a very pleasant and unforgettable meal. Everyone was full and happy. I couldn't recommend this place anymore.
