Midgard Base Camp - Hvolsvollur

Only one night stay here (local) as part of a tour group. midgard was amazing, and an absolute highlight of a trip that was full of them. the personal was also super friendly and accommodating. the view from the whirlpool/sauna deck was great, and eating from the restaurant was also really great.

This place is spectacular! it is so clean and welcoming. the personal was amazing and very accommodating. the whirlpool and the sauna were a dream with magnificent views of the volcano. that won't be better. the food was also from this world and they have a great choice of beer and drink at the bar! highly recommended!

Very good location where to stop and spend or rest after long day traveling. Room was simple, clean ,but no TV. It's quite around and you can hear everything. On the 2nd floor roof they have hot tube with sauna, and the view is beautiful. I really would like to come back there at winter time.I really liked that they have boot dryer machine. It make life easier for travelers. On the 1st floor they have karaoke place and lounge with TV and games, restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent food! Two great vegan options. The vegan pasta was great. Great atmosphere, great ambience and a very accommodating staff. Very recommended!

Good pasta with mushrooms and lenses. Veggie Burger and beautiful roasted taters. A little expensive. Trendy interior with well equipped bar. A young adventure.
