Dalmatino - Hvar

The attention to detail in this place is incredible. It’s such a shame they don’t advertise their vegan offering cause the food is incredible and I bet it’s put other vegans off just looking at their menu, I only knew of this place because of HappyCow. They offer two types of vegan gnocchi (tomato or truffle), a seitan steak in place of regular steak (i think there was a couple of options for this too a spicy peppercorn one or truffle one), for starters there is a vegan vegetable soup or they can modify the courgette dish to have smoked tofu cheese rather than feta, similarly with the salad. They also brought out complimentary shots (including a non alcoholic one for the kiddos) at the start and end of your meal, and a complimentary starter which was like a cheesy polenta dish using the smoked tofu. It was expensive even for Hvar but it’s a great dining experience. Good knowledge of wines too. All in all a great experience

They could have a vegan menu their food is so good. We ignored it as looks so meaty and then found it via Happy Cow. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful and very ready to offer us a three course vegan feast. Perfection.

I’m not sure why they don’t list the vegan options on the menu as they’re very good. They really are relying on word of mouth here. It’s pricy, but I’m happy to order well-thought out vegan replacements, rather than simply subtracting meat/dairy/eggs from existing options.

I had the vegan version of truffle gnocchi and really enjoyed it. We also had a salad and they replaced the cheese with smoked tofu. The smoked tofu could be seasoned better but overall great experience. They also provided aperitif carob drink and drink after food as well as polenta that where they added smoked tofu instead of Parmesan. I recommend this place in Hvar!

This place is exceptional for vegan options. I know it seems daunting to go because there are no vegan options listed on the menu but the waiters are super knowledgeable and the vegan options they present are incredible. I have a truffle pasta with vegan cream and vegan cheese.
