China Chen Chinese - Huntley

The food here is generally pretty good and tasty. Egg rolls are pretty generic. Soups are ok. Not bad for Huntley I guess. But if you're in the area. It's probably the best place around for Chinese food. Decent fried rice. Beef is tender and tasty here. I'm a delivery customer for them. Maybe once a week. Good lunch specials here too. Everyone likes they're own favorite Chinese food place. This one is pretty good. Usually tasty. Always fresh too.

Food quality has really gone down. Ordered beef fried rice, the meat was chewing on shoe leather. Bad after taste on the cheese enchiladas. Need to start looking for a new place to order from. Its sad, but it is what it is.?

Over the years the restaurant has chnged owners. We used to go regularly and then a few years ago it changed again and we didn't like the food. We hadn't been there in in over 3 years. We wanted Chinese food xmas day as traditional with Jews. I looked up Chinese restaurants in Huntley and found CHina Chen. We realized ownership had changed. The menu was tremendous. It was lacking in showing what ingredients were in the different dishes but the names wwere familiar. We eat vegetarian in Chines restaurants and they had many vegetarian dishes to choose from. All came with rice and some in different portion sizes. We chose 3 and the cookies. My husband brought them home. THEy were in very sturdy containers, no spilling and they were filled all the way with fresh, beautiful vegetables, Tofu cooked the way we like it. I dont like spicy and they gave me a delicious sauce, not spicy..THere was so much food that we only ate 1 1/2 of the containers and haaaaave enough left that I froze it for the next 1 or two meals. Myu husband had to wait a while for the food as the store was busy. That is a good thing with so many businesses go out of business due to covid. Happy to wait. I amso happy I decided to look to see if there were any other CHinese restaraunts in Huntley as this one is great and we will start eating Chinese again.

First time I had a chicken fried rice where the chicken looked either steamed or boiled separately. Because the chicken looked so white it stood out lol. I think the just added chicken to a pre-made fried rice. Look at the picture??

I don't know what happened, but we ordered all the time and the food was great. Today we threw out both meals. The sauce was tasteless, my shrimp was rubber and you could not chew through it. We also got a beef and it was rubber tough tough ...we threw all the meals out not worth upsetting my stomach. It's too bad it used to be our favorite.
