Umberto's Pizzeria - Huntington

I absolutely adore the pizza at this restaurant, it's the only thing I ever order anymore. The Sicilian pizza is particularly delicious. Umberto's has a charming and cozy sit-down area, as well as a full-service pizza take-out counter. I highly recommend trying their pastas when you visit. Every pizza and their mozzarella sticks are fantastic. The dinners are also very good, with generous portions and reasonable prices. Whether you're looking for a pizza lunch or Italian dinner, you won't be disappointed at Umberto's.

The pizza at this restaurant is frequently overcooked. When you approach the display case to choose from the variety of options, you are left feeling disappointed because every slice with pepperoni is burnt. Even more concerning, the burnt pizza then has to go back in the oven to be reheated, resulting in an even more charred taste. It is unclear how they prepare their pizza—perhaps they are distracted, texting, or watching videos while working because they do not seem to be focused on quality. Overall, this is a complete disappointment for a New York establishment.

I ordered from Umberto's through Grub Hub for lunch at 11:00am, but by 12:20 I had to call Umberto's to check on my order. The person on the phone said they had not even started my order because they never checked their computer. My food finally arrived at 1:20pm, 2 1/2 hours later, and it was incorrect - missing the side items I had asked for. Paying $57 for 2 salads for lunch and getting them after our lunch hour was very disappointing. A simple apology would have been appreciated. I would recommend the Grilled Chicken and Caesar Salad at Umberto's if you decide to try it. Service: 1 Food: 3 Price per person: $20-30 Meal type: Lunch.

This pizza place is definitely old school, serving up some of the best square slices in the area. The root beer on tap is always a great touch. While the pizza is very good, the regular food options are even better. I recently visited after a long while and tried their chicken Caesar slice, which turned out to be a satisfying meal on its own. I prefer my salad separate from my hot foods, so I enjoyed the chicken and veggies first before diving into the pizza, which tasted like a giant breadstick. The meat lovers slice had a nice kick to it, and I struggled to finish it all. This place never disappoints, and the root beer on tap is still a standout feature. Overall, top marks for food, service, and atmosphere.
