The Waterfront Beach Resort, A Hilton

We have visited this restaurant multiple times in hopes that it would improve, but unfortunately it has not. We spent $80 on a quesadilla and a tuna dinner that was inedible. They did comp a dessert due to the issue with the tuna, but in our opinion, they should have removed the dinner from our bill altogether. Additionally, the table next to us had four very loud and drunk patrons. We have decided not to return to this restaurant.

Some things are just irksome . First the distance between “bar seating “ where we could eat dinner and watch baseball and football and “dining room seating “ was 5 feet with a partition between them. We were told we couldn’t order off the full menu in “bar seating “ but 5 feet to the right we could . When asked for recommendations about the Mexican mule our waiter said he didn’t like the smokiness to it. Hmm , I’ll just swap out the smoky tequila for one of my Choosing. Why didn’t he think of that ? And please follow the menu as listed. We ordered the makeshift charcuterie board because it listed fig jam. Big fan of fig jam. What came out was stone ground mustard. Uhh what? Ohh server says we’re out of fig jam. Hmm, he goes back and looks and here’s Cherry jam and honey. Ok. Better . But then later after we’d finished most of the board out comes the fig jam. No one ever said being a waiter was easy but he didn’t have to make it so hard either

Me and my wife went there for our 21st wedding anniversary, first and foremost the waitress was amazing. First we ordered drinks. I ordered a **** Mary type of drink. It was so spicy I could not drink it. My wife ordered a chicken Caesar salad that was very spicy and she is not a spicy eater and it had large chunks of chicken on top. They were not cut up or diced, I ordered the Chili Mole and I’ve never had three pieces of fried chicken on top of rice, which wasn’t cooked and extremely salty. Not a great experience, and I probably wouldn’t be going back there again. Maybe Sammy should have some undercover tasters go into his restaurant.

The food was delicious, but the menu options were limited. The Mexican cuisine was on the pricey side and there was no music playing. However, I would definitely return as I enjoyed dining outdoors.

Took hubby for his birthday. It was good. The staff are wonderful. The food was good. Had chili lime shrimp, which was very good, and the skirt steak with chimichurri. Hubby had the cowboy ribeye, which did not live up to the name. Also tried the special Old Fashion, which was different, but still quite tasty. Hubby was provided with homemade churro, whipped cream, strawberries and chocolate sauce as his birthday treat from the restaurant. It was a large portion and delicious. It was a very nice treat without the awkwardness of staff singing. The patio was a little lacking in ambience. There needed to be some kind of music. It's Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo, so you expect music. Tupua Polynesian dance troupe did performed, but it was very short about 15 minutes. Since we were there over 2 hours, it would have been nice to have some sort of other entertainment or a second performance. We went at sunset, which is always gorgeous in Huntington Beach, however, from this section of the hotel, you can't actually see the sun set because the original hotel tower blocks the view. That said, you still have a view of the ocean in the distance. That's the pros and cons, but overall, it was a nice evening.
