Contribuiți la feedbackWe visited last night with my parents, and the restaurant was quite empty, which isn’t unusual for a weekday evening. There was only one other table occupied, and another table that hadn’t been cleaned. We placed our orders, and our meals were served quickly! Everyone enjoyed their food; my husband even tried a new steak piadina, which he found very tasty. The only area that could use improvement is the cleanliness of the tables. A two-person table arrived after us but left before we did, and their table remained dirty throughout our visit. Given that it was a slow evening, there really was no reason for that oversight.
Nice and airy but not impressed by the food. While out shopping this morning, we decided to try Zoe's Kitchen at Birkdale. Been here for years but never got around to trying it. My wife had never gotten around to trying Quinoa although I have and they had a Quinoa salad on the menu. Therefore she ordered one but asked that it be served without olives or dressing. She's on some sort of diet and carries here own dressing in her purse. I ordered the Rosemary Ham and Mozzarella Piadina and Potato Salad. My wife ordered unsweetened tea and I got a cup of the Limeaid which was pretty good except a bit heavy on the cane sugar. We found a table and seated ourselves and my wife went back to pick up some napkins and silverware. They need to check the setting on the dishwasher because of water spots and set had to go through multiple pieces to get a set that looked clean. Our order came out and we had an immediate problem. My wife took one bite of the salad and it already had a dressing on it. She went to the manager and was told that was the only way it came. I was not paying much attention at the time but shortly the manager came running out and said she had the wrong salad. Looking at the salad, it was on Orzo or Tabouli Salad with what I's going to guess was two Chicken Kabobs on top. The replacement salad came out in record time and I do give high marks for catching and correcting the mistake but the mistake should not have occurred in the first place. The Quinoa Salad was good but not outstanding. As for my lunch, it was a mixed bag that comes with dining here for the first time and not knowing the menu. The Rosemary Ham and Mozzarella Sandwich was served hot and was absolutely delicious and was the highpoint point of the meal As for the potato salad, I probably should have read the menu description better but when you're standing at a counter with the menu overhead, it's a bit hard to do. The fine print says that the potato salad is made without mayo so consequently you end us with something with little or no taste and very poor texture. Next time, I thing I will go with the Pasta Salad instead, The restaurant is very nice and airy. Being a nice Spring Day with the temperature in the low 80's, would have been a good day to eat outside at one of the many table they have.
This is your classic fast casual restaurant. The food is good, healthy and some items are even whole 30 approved. The portions are reasonable and the quality is consistently good. My only complaint is that it's never too flavorful or remarkable, just reliably satisfying. This is a really great option for catering. The portions for catering are always large, and never disappoints a crowd. The restaurant itself is nice and even has a little patio for eating outdoors. Perfect for a quick, casual meal.
Living in the Village, this is one of my go to places for take out. So last Saturday (August 18) on my way home from working 12 hours in Winston, I ordered through the app. Perfect, ready in 25 minutes, I'll be there in 18. I showed up: no lights on and a sign on the door. I didn't read the sign bc it was raining and the place was closed. I double check the address in the app... maybe the food order went to a nearby open store: nope, right location. Great.... so, I had to order from another place and wait an extra 20 minutes. So, I figured something happened and they had to be closed for the night. I give it a week for the credit charge to be refunded (since I didn't get my food and all).... NOPE! So I tried to call them: No answer. So, now I'm pretty disappointed in the place. I don't know who else to contact for the refund... I will definitely delete the app. That the store was closed should have prevent d me from ordering.
As for the salad, I found the restaurant's signature Zoe's Dressing to be lacking in flavor. Even after shaking the bottle provided on the table, it still wasn't very tasty. The salad was tossed in the dressing, and all I could taste was the lettuce. I ended up requesting a side of their Lemon Vinaigrette, which did improve the flavor overall. Additionally, the Tossed Greek Salad came with a small bowl of pasta salad, but it was just mediocre—nothing special. I genuinely want to enjoy Zoe's since it's conveniently located near my house and offers healthier options compared to some other places. They also have an extensive menu featuring their main proteins prepared in various ways. However, my son was hoping to find Gyros on the menu since it's a Mediterranean restaurant, but unfortunately, that's one protein option they don't offer.
