Kid-friendliness: There’s a lot of cultural heritage to explore, and as an Afro-Latino, it feels wonderful to be in a space where my culture is celebrated and appreciated. Parking: It can get quite busy, as I expected, but parking is manageable. Wheelchair accessibility: I don’t have personal experience with wheelchair accessibility, but from what I’ve seen, it seems to be very accommodating.
Terrible experience. I was sitting at the bar and no one came to assist me. I went to the front, but no one greeted me either. When my party arrived, someone finally came over after a few minutes. Once we were seated, I tried to get the attention of the waiter after we had been ignored for 10 minutes. He still didn’t acknowledge us, didn’t introduce himself as our waiter, and just walked away. It took over 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken after we were seated. I informed the waiter that I needed to order quickly because I had to leave early. He acknowledged me but then walked away. After waiting another 15 minutes, he still hadn’t taken my order, putting us at over 40 minutes of waiting time. I had my Spanish-speaking friend communicate with him, but he still didn’t take my order. We waited another 10 minutes, and then my dad had to ask if we could order. The waiter finally came around but I was the second-to-last person in a party of over 20. At that point, I couldn’t even place an order because I wouldn’t have time to get my food before needing to leave for work. When it came to drinks, I ordered a large alcoholic beverage but received a small one instead. Overall, it was a horrible experience, and I will never return. When I asked others at the table, they said the service was consistently bad.
To be cautious, he checked the order while there and, unfortunately, found beef fajita meat again. He sent it back, and the host said it wouldn’t take long to remake. About five minutes later, the new order was ready, and my husband checked it before leaving. This time, he saw what looked like chicken, so he brought it home. However, when I cut into the enchilada, I found they had merely added some chicken pieces to the beef enchiladas we had returned! The flautas were beef as well. I was incredibly upset because I don’t eat beef! By the time I noticed this, it was past closing, so I couldn't call that night. I reached out the next day and spoke with Roy, the manager, who was the worst I have ever encountered. I explained my frustrations with my recent orders, but he seemed indifferent. He told me I should have double-checked my food before leaving and accused me of lying about the cooks' mistakes. He outright refused to remake my order, insisting that I should have called immediately upon noticing the issue, even though they were closed when I discovered it. I have the receipt and photos of the food, and I ended up out about $35 because the food was inedible. Apparently, it's now the customer's responsibility to ensure their order is correct before leaving this establishment.
I always have a great time at this vibrant restaurant! Even during the Covid pandemic, they maintained their atmosphere wonderfully. I typically go for the steak fajitas, which are a fantastic choice, served hot and paired perfectly with a delicious strawberry margarita. The decor is bright and cheerful, just the way I like it. And those hand-painted chairs at the bar—if only I could take some home to brighten up my own space!
