Contribuiți la feedbackNice cozy food..they also provide catering services to the local elemantary school. Our kids love their lunch and it makes the lunch easy to plan..we just need to selected and pay for the month. Food that feels like home
I recommended that they use their kitchen fan and consider installing a door between the kitchen and dining area to prevent the odors from spreading. If this issue is not addressed, I will not be returning. Additionally, it was evident that many dishes were prepared in advance. When I requested steamed vegetables, I was informed that they were already cooked and therefore unavailable.
This is our favorite restaurant in the area. We have been multiple times and have never been disappointed. Alvaro's cooking is creative and diverse, from delicious soups with fresh ingredients and unique flavors to fish and meat dishes with tasty sauces and vegetables. The desserts are always worth saving room for, and the wine selection is interesting with fair prices and the option to order by the glass. We have also enjoyed special menus such as maple syrup and a Valentine's Day menu. They accommodate gluten-free and vegetarian diners well. The staff always gives a warm and genuine welcome. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the local dining scene.
I was invited to a family reunion with a few friends and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal from start to finish. The presentation of the food was impeccable, with the soup served in a proper soup plate rather than a tea bowl, and everything was exceptionally clean. We started with a delicious white asparagus with béarnaise sauce, perfectly cooked and sourced from Uruguay due to the difficulty of finding them locally at this time of year. Our main course was a scrumptious canard confit with orange sauce, mashed potatoes, and roasted beetroots with celery root puree. To top it off, we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent croque en buche, which was the best I've had in Montreal. While I don't dine out as often now, I regularly write reviews for restaurants on Trip Advisor and have a sizable audience.
We've tried Anis et Marjolaine a number of times now, and are yet to be disappointed. Very relaxed ambience with a regularly changing menu that offers enough variety for everyone even our picky 14 year old son. Alvaro is a warm and friendly host/chef/owner who makes every meal to order. Your visit will take a bit longer than most restaurants, but you won't regret it.
