Contribuiți la feedbackI love this place. I'm still in the very beginner stages of learning Thai, so I was unable to speak or even understand what the staff were telling me, but they were SO patient with communicating with me. I resorted to using Google Translate on my phone and one of the women had no problems with talking to me that way, it was very sweet of her. The food was amazing. I ordered a vegan crispy pork belly dish that came with rice, mushrooms, and chilies. I asked for spicy, despite their warnings. One of the women checked on me repeatedly and even offered a banana, because she could see how much I was sweating LOL. The spice was hot, but it was what I wanted, and it was great. : Admittedly, I don't remember what I paid, but it was not expensive at all, and completely worth it. I cannot wait to go back.
On our mid-afternoon visit, the only items available were three variations of noodle soup, so we tried two of them. If the name “noodle in pink sauce” sounds questionable, know that it was the more flavorful of the two dishes, with just a hint of chili. The other, “vegan chicken noodle” was quite simple but still with nice subtle flavor, perfect for anyone with a sensitive tummy or just a preference for mild flavor. We just wish there was more vegetable to it, as it was mostly noodle and faux meat. Both were fresh and satisfying, and it’s hard to beat the price at 30-40 baht per person. On that note, though, it should be mentioned that the amount we were asked to pay was 25% above the price printed on the menu (50 Baht per person rather than 40), but since this was such a small amount we paid it without comment. The proprietor doesn’t speak English but there are both English and Thai versions of the menu. Drinks are limited to either tap water or packaged drinks from the fridge (most in plastic bottles, which surely would be destined for the ocean like millions of others) so we got fresh coconuts at the market right next-door instead. Very tasty and cheap. Very nice owner. Unfortunately speaks only Thai. Opposite the water park
This restaurant is a very short motorbike ride outside of town, but easy to find using google maps and well worth the trip! Very sweet and friendly staff, very clean and bright, a vegan menu in English as well as Thai. Also has a small shop of veg-friendly groceries. Delicious, perfectly spiced food, large portions, and very cheap. Also, they gave us a couple of complimentary bananas at the end of our mealHighly recommend!
A new jay restaurant with all the usual dishes including tofus and mock meats, run by a collective of Buddhist women. Actual business name in Thai is something like Wararam Woraree's but look for sign saying Universal Vegan. Everything we tried was made with freshly prepared ingredients and tasted delicious. Pleasant and spicy Thai food experience. Handy for the market which is great for shopping for cheap fresh food. Updated from previous review on 2021-12-05
