Despite the popularity of the restaurant, we managed to secure a table without any trouble. The menu offered a variety of interesting dishes, many of which were larger and more filling than we were in the mood for. We decided to share a pizza and the shishito peppers instead. The pizza had a perfect crust with a nice char, while still being soft and foldable. The peppers were also delicious, although they were larger than expected for shishitos. The service was extremely friendly. Before you leave, be sure to stop by the walk-up window for cookies and other desserts.
Overall, this is a nice restaurant with friendly staff. However, there are a few things to note: 1) the food prices are high and the portions are small, so I always leave feeling a bit hungry. 2) They need to improve their table service. I am happy to tip at the cashier, but that should include attentive service at the table. Thank you.
I visited this restaurant for a quick dinner on a weeknight and was pleasantly surprised by its small town charm in the middle of the city. I ordered a glass of sauvignon blanc and a Tony's Calabrian pizza, which was delicious. I only managed to eat three slices because I had a big lunch earlier, but I would have finished it if I could. The waitress was attentive and checked on us multiple times. I highly recommend trying this place.
I've been here a few times but it hasn't been super memorable, as I find it to be hit or miss. I've had avocado toast for brunch and more recently, fried okra and a Caesar salad. The salad was drowning in dressing--soggy and unpleasant. The croutons were tiny, scarce, and more chewy than crunchy. The fried okra was very crispy and delicious, but half of the order seemed to be crispy batter bits vs. more substantial pieces of okra. I liked my white wine mojito--it was decently strong, but would have had a nicer flavor with the mint being muddled instead of a large sprig as garnish. We finished with the doughnuts for dessert, which I've definitely had better. I'd consider them to be cake doughnut holes, of which I'm not a big fan. However, the basque cheesecake with cherry sauce and candied pistachios was fantastic. Service was good, and they gave us some excellent chocolate chip cookies to take home. Overall, I'll keep coming back, I'm sure. I'd really love to try their steak with blue cheese risotto some day.
So happy this location still has walk up ordering unlike the Tiny Boxwood location that now has table service at lunch. It's so nice being able to walk up to order with kids. It's just easier and faster. I hope they keep it like this at this location. Love the French country and cubano sandwich. The yogurt parfait is normally great but has lately been a hit or miss (some days they are very skimpy on berries while other days they give as many as they use to). The lattes and hot chocolate could be better. The weekend warrior is great when they haven't run out. They have some good drinks. The cookies are always a nice treat as well. The ambiance is always nice too.
