Plonk! Beer Wine Bistro - Houston

I visited Plonk for the first time yesterday, and I was really impressed. Despite arriving at around 10:30 PM (with closing time at 11 PM), the staff were very welcoming, and the food was outstanding. I particularly recommend the halibut, mussels, and yellowtail.

I won’t sugarcoat it: I used to work there. I've also spent time in some of the finest restaurants in the area and dined at top establishments across the U.S. The value you get for the quality of food is unmatched. The wine prices are very reasonable, and the staff is fantastic. While food may take a while to arrive, the exceptional quality coming from the kitchen is impressive. This is coming from someone with over 20 years in the food and beverage industry, having opened three restaurants that each grossed over $10 million in their first year.

The food here is fantastic, but it's definitely a charming local mom-and-pop spot! If you're in a hurry, keep in mind that the service is a little slow-paced—kind of like enjoying a leisurely dinner in Europe! The wine selection is excellent as well!

We just had an amazing wine-pairing dinner at Plonk! featuring the Pacific Northwest! They have the most amazing pork chops. Highly recommended you try this neighborhood hidden gem!!! Scott, owner and visionary, is passionate about great food, wine, and service.

What a great meal! Took the wife for a date night, sat at the bar, and was waited in by Bryan! Guy was incredibly knowledgeable on dialing in our pallets for the wine, and found the perfect glass for me and my wife! He made every attempt to make our date night special. You simply don’t find that level of service anymore. The charcuterie board was INSANE! Hands down the biggest and best one in Houston, and don’t sleep on the mussels. The delicious blend of curry, coconut, and lime were the perfect accent to the delicious muscles!
