Platypus Brewing - Houston

Great beer and atmosphere for a good price. Also got some food and it was definitely worth it!

I came here with my employees to treat them to a beer, I’m not the type to leave a review but I feel like some should be aware. First off the food and drinks were amazing! But the bartender was very mono tone, and gave us no energy until at one point we were all laughing at our coworker for getting a coke at the bar and the bartender that was wearing a hat had some tiny sunglasses, long hair in a ponytail over heard our convo and quietly offered one of my employees a powder substance for sale. I asked to speak to a manager but he told me he was the manager. After that we left but we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the menu items and wish to return when he is not there and someone more professional is at the bar.

Service is sparse, might get one beer then have to go to the counter for everything else. Got the platypus burger and it was bad at best. Rock hard patty, cold stale fries. Beer is good not great.

Great brews and really cute spot! The inside is tight and it was super crowded is my only complaint. Really enjoyed my time there!

Not enough beer options and the tap room is a bit tight. It might be a nice spot when the weather is better. That said the food is pretty good. The fish chips were tasty and the pretzel bites were really good. The chain rattler imperial stout was the best option for me. That all said not there is probably not enough there to entice me to make a second visit.
