Pepper Twins - Houston

This is easily the best Chinese restaurant in Houston! I have been a regular customer for years and they never fail to impress. Some of my favorite dishes include the hot braised fish, shrimp fried rice, and the green beans on the side.

This restaurant is clean, and nicely decorated by the previous owner. Stepping in, one would expect the new owner to maintain prior quality. However, our visit on a weekend evening raised some questions. Despite the charming decor, the restaurant was only half full. We ordered more than six dishes from lamb to beef. Surprisingly, each dish seemed to follow a pattern a uniform taste and texture, suggesting a pre prepared and overcooked approach. The owner seemed not happy, and there was a sense of struggle lingered in the air. Given its prime location and appealing decor, a better food quality shall unlock the full potential of this nice restaurant.

Unfortunately, the only picture I managed to take was of the carved horse decorations in the entrance. The Chinese cuisine at this restaurant is truly authentic, with dishes featuring every part of the animal. The portions are generous and perfect for sharing. I really wish this place was located nearer to me - I would dine here all the time!

If you like spicy food, this is the place where for you. It is very reasonably priced and the food quality is excellent with generous Texas portion. The golden tofu excellent.
