Every time I get to Houston, Pappas Seafood House is a *must* visit. From the old school gräbts and friendly, knowledgeable staff (from the direction of Brandon, the bar tender for the excellent regional cuisine, it is one of my favorites in the city. For a 'less diet friendly', do not miss the shrimps po 'boy, the best I tasted. The fresh French foliage is chewing as well as crustaceous, and the bite-sized crustaceans are wrapped in a crispy dough that really holds against the damp salad and tomatoes, as well as cocktail and tartaric acid sauce. And those crazy parmesan horses that accompany the sandwich? No way! A menu item I feel much less guilty of ordering is a bowl of the seafood gumbo, which comes schnapps full of golf shrimps, oysters and crab meat. The broth is thinner than some of the other versions in the city (I see you, Goode Co. Seafood! But it's much richer and more smoky. Do not miss the homemade lime cake for dessert!

Great service, good food ideal location. The parking lot is a bit cluster-phobic, but in the middle of the city it is to be expected. Vegan choice is salad and cocktails that are both very well made.

I simply love the location and just love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the selection of foods. Also excellent quality service..
