The only available table was outside on the terrace that protected us from the late afternoon sun. Our waiter, Rubin, was attentive and gave us good advice – start with four tapas dishes and take it from there. We ordered the shells, with fried rice, baked goat cheese with garlic toast and crispy potatoes in spicy pork sauce. We ordered a bottle of Argentine red wine. Everything was delicious, even though the potatoes were not crispy at all. They were very tasteful. We enjoyed the food and rubies excellent service. We're definitely going back.
Oporto is one of the best restaurants in Houston. All about this place is above the top. Staff is some of the best in business. Our server, Shaw, was just one of the best servers I found in a restaurant. He was a changing encyclopedia. When he asked about recommendations, he gave very deep details about the dishes and how the flavors mixed together. When we finally had our opinion on what to order, the descriptions that Shaw had made available were on site. You recommend ordering 2 dishes per person. I'd say if you go on a date, and you're both very hungry, go for 4. Otherwise, 3 should be sufficient. You are small plates, but your server can be able to make recommendations based on which dishes you order. My wife and I ordered four dishes. The Scallop Farrotto, Polvo Con Batatas, Lamb Ribs Mediterraneo and the seafood Curry (not shown). The scallops were perfectly cooked and simply melted in the mouth. The best risotto on which it was served had a very curry-based taste, but could not have been better paired. The Polvo (Octopus! was delicious. This is a court they are known for, and I can see why! If you are intimidated by trying Octopus, do not hesitate and just order it. Its extremely delicate and packed delicious taste. The Lamb Ribs were one of my favorites. From what I understand to do this takw over two days. The meat just falls off the bone, and the emphasis that it is served up was absolutely delicious. Finally, the Seafood Curry is something I would recommend. If it were socially acceptable to pick up the bowl and drink it, I would totally. This curry packs so much taste that it is like pure euphoria in your mouth. Ask for extra Naan. You want every piece of this sauce. I can't say anything better here. Your sister restaurant, Da Gamma is also recommended on the same level to check their restaurant as well. Great place for a date night or if you just want to enjoy a delicious meal. Certainly reservations, if possible, because this place meets quickly. If you are not able to enjoy a few drinks at the bar while you are waiting, it is certainly worth it!
I didn't want a Portuguese restaurant. But it was worth the adventure. The food was so tasteful. Flavours I have never experienced. Our server Victor behind the bar was an expert on the menu. He led us to something between a crab cake and white fish. Steak potatoes and egg. Then with a colorful description of bread pudding, that was all and more. I felt so welcome. The staff loved the dishes and drinks they served. The lighting, lighting, seating and terrace are appealing. Great experience
We were here last Friday and it was a great experience on the terrace. The food is amazing that I especially like the scallop tapas. The waiters were attentive to us, although they were really busy.
