Los Tios - Houston

The ambiance is unpretentious, but the food is outstanding. The salsa was among the best I’ve had in a long time, and the chips were fresh. The half-pound veggie fajita was ample enough for two people, and the half-pound chicken fajita was also quite substantial. The chicken was juicy and packed with flavor. I will definitely be back. Management might consider updating the ceiling and vent covers for a more polished look.

My main issue is with the enchilada gravy; it's quite bland and there's too much of it. I think it would be much better to use a chili con carne gravy for the cheese enchiladas instead of the low-flavor option they currently use. Of course, I recognize that other regulars at this location may enjoy it. Regardless, I'm glad to see that Los Tios has been able to stay in business for so long, and I will continue to visit, though I’ll opt for different dishes that pack more flavor.

This was my very first visit. The food taste and quality was good, but not great. The portion size is mediocre. The alcoholic beverage is small-martini type glasses, yet the price is up there with the restaurants that give way more. Service was good-ialways tip! My waiter did have to correct my order-he brought something different than what I asked for. Plus during my order,I added to my plate...I don't know how he mixed it up. It might've been the fact he speaks mostly Spanish. But then again, Ipointed at the order as I spoke. Eye contact and all. Not bad, but not a place I'd frequent.

To be honest, the food and service used to be excellent, but in the past six months, I've visited three times hoping for a great experience again, and this will be my last visit. I really can't tell if they even want customers anymore, as the staff has become quite unfriendly. My most recent experience sitting at the bar was particularly disappointing, and I don't want to go into detail. Sadly, the quality of the food has declined as well. I'm sorry to say that I'm finished with this place.
