We truly cherished our time there; it was a lovely neighborhood spot. We went there often, and the staff even remembered our names, always greeting us with warm smiles! We’ll definitely miss their bread—it was the best we’ve ever had! They served the finest pizza, too. My favorite dishes were the rabbit enchiladas and the indulgent brownie. Unfortunately, I have no pictures of them because they disappeared as soon as they arrived at our table!
BYOB! The corkage fee was quite reasonable (I had too much wine to remember the exact amount, and I don't think they charged us for all the bottles!). We visited on a Tuesday night, and the place was packed! I was really impressed. The food portions were generous, reasonably priced, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the Angel Hair Diavolo, which was loaded with shrimp and shells; it might have had a bit too many olives for my liking. Some of my friends shared pizzas, and there were definitely no leftovers. I would highly recommend this restaurant; it's perfect for a relaxed evening with friends. We lingered for hours and never felt rushed. Plus, our water glasses were always full!
La Vista is one of the most consistently delicious restaurants in Houston, which is why it has remained a favorite for 17 years! It's an ideal spot for a girls' night out, a private party in the back room, or a romantic first date. The atmosphere is cozy and eclectic, with large photographs adorning the walls. The food is incredible, featuring classic Italian dishes with Chef Greg's special twists! My personal favorites include the ravioli with creamy vodka sauce, chicken piccata (especially if it’s on special), a juicy chicken breast (perfect for my friend), pollo pizza, and the tomato caprese (for those looking to eat healthier)!
This place is lovely. I came to eat out by myself (I felt fancy) and Yelp took me here. Its busy on a Saturday night, but not so busy that I wasn't seated immediately. Gino (I think that's his name. I'm terrible with them, but the receipt says Gino) shared the soecials. I chose the wine special (i completely forgot the name, but it had a hint of peppermint at the end of the taste) and bruschetta to start. Both were absolutely delicious. Like I mentioned earlier it was quite busy with two large parties, but the service was still fast enough that I didn't get impatient and slow enough I didn't feel rushed. Gino told me he hasld another big order to put in but he wanted to put mine in first. A move that made me really appreciate the service here. I ordered the Papardelle. At first I was confused at the portion size since everything else seemed to be such big portions, but I quickly learned why. The flavor was immense, and I couldn't even finish it. I did however have to try the Tiramisu (my favorite dessert). I ordered was the dessert and it was much larger than I had anticipated. Again it was overflowing with flavor, but I couldn't fit anymore (although Gino jokingly offered to help me eat half). Once I was finished with my three bites, Gino took the cue from across the room and asked if I would like a box. I'm currently just waiting to give him my card to pay. I so enjoyed the service and the food. Its not something I can afford every week, but it's a great place for special occasions. The atmosphere is amazing. The service is amazing. The good is amazing. La Vista is amazing.
Greg Gordon cooks up some of the most delicious food I've ever had. His original recipes will take your taste buds to the next level. La Vista has been serving up delicious food for 19 years, and it's definitely worthy of a visit. Enjoy!
