Bernie's Burger Bus - Houston

*I visited during covid19. Establishment followed all guidelines and precautions, which eased my timid nerves about eating out at this time. Parking is free and plentiful. Everyone was nice and professional. My cousin enjoyed their food as well. Burger, garlic fries, and lemonade. My food was SO good. I forgot the name of my burger, but it has a grill cheese sandwich for buns and two meat patties!! I'm greedy and the burger alone filled me up! You can ask what all comes on it, but I got mostly everything (minus mustard, jalapenos). Oooo, my Oreo shake was so go! I'd go back to this place just to order a shake. That's a real compliment from me...as I only enjoy DQ ice cream (Sonic as back up) when eating out. Next time, I'll order a large oreo shake instead of a small. We enjoyed the covered patio with fans. I'd definitely eat there again! You should absolutely try it at least once! Please see and like my photos! Ty!

Loved this place. So sad COVID closed them down. Burgers were great. Shakes were delicious too. A little pricey but so yummy.

I was so disappointed!! I had high hopes for this place cause it has such high reviews and people told me it was one of the best burgers in Houston when I first moved here negative!! I totally disagree.. maybe they did better as a food truck but our experience was lacking! The space is kinda neat the food truck/bus being the kitchen in the back was definitely unique. There's a bar, a fairly large outdoor seating area and large booths on one side and tables inside as well. The service was fine nothing to rave about and nothing to complain about either. Now onto the more important stuff the food! We ordered the truffle laced fries cause I do love truffle! They lacked truffle flavor, they were not crispy, and they had large chunks of Parmesan and green onion spread on top. You would think it's hard to mess up fries this simple, but it just wasn't any good. The honor roll fries were even worse the brisket was more like microwave brisket that had been frozen at some point drizzled with sweet BBQ sauce. The fried were not crispy and there was maybe two little pieces of bacon in it and we had to dig hard to find any. Don't even bother with these, they were not good. As for the main part, the burgers we had the Homeroom burger cheddar cheeseburger, crispy bacon, tipsy onions, chipotle aioli and a fried egg. I have to say, it has good flavors but the bun and topping to patty ratio on both burgers we ordered were way off. The beef patty was small 4 5oz max.. and the bread was too much. The burger was soggy and fell apart. No, just no. We also had the Principal and had the same problem. Again, good flavors but nothing special and for $10, they definitely don't give you enough meat for that price. I was not impressed. The house made strawberry lemonade was tart and too sweet at the same time, tasted like artificial strawberry flavoring. I can't say we enjoyed anything we had tonight. It was mediocre at best and we probably will not be back. There are so many better burger places out there!

I also want to mention that their lemonade is delicious. The staff was excellent, particularly the manager, Mia, who is very detail-oriented and thorough. My bartender/server was just fantastic. The restaurant itself was spotless and featured a bar with TVs, a spacious dining area, and a lovely patio. Plus, there’s plenty of free parking in the strip mall where it’s located, although it can get quite busy. I really enjoyed my experience here, and I’m sure you will too!
