The Royal Oak - HOUNSLOW

This charming pub by the river has a great atmosphere, but parking can be a bit of a challenge with no on-site parking. However, you can find street parking with some perseverance. The pub itself has a lovely setting and ambiance. Our main dishes (Boar Burger and Pie) were excellent, but we were disappointed with our apple crumble dessert. When we provided feedback to the staff, they gladly refunded us without us having to ask, which was a nice gesture. I have to agree with others who have mentioned that the staff could be more attentive. While they were all friendly, they were often gathered together or on their phones when approached at the bar. Overall, the experience could be improved if the staff were more focused on the pub and its customers. [hidden link]

I had never been to the Royal Oak before. I came here for a pre-ordered Christmas dinner. I was expecting a pretty average meal as per usual pub Christmas dinners. Well, it was really fantastic. The roast beef was tender and the gravy was tasty. Even the Brussel sprouts were nice. My starter and pudding were exceptional too. Will definitely be back! Looking forward to trying their cocktail menu on my next visit.

First time in the Oak but had arranged to meet friends who recommended the pub, first impression count and the staff seemed very helpful and friendly, served quickly and shown to table with out any fuss.The food was piping hot and well presented and the service very good.Will be back for another visit.

Recently moved to the area and this is now our local. We've visited around 6 7 times and every single time has been a delight, and we've wondered why we were even considering ordering a pizza instead of coming here! Fantastic service from a bunch of lovely people (guy with long hair tied back, lady with cool bridge piercing, young lady with dark hair, everyone is great). It's gets busy but they do their absolute best and management seems to notice and support thier staff which is lovely to see. The food is brilliant, some of the best pub food I've had; steak, sweet potato fries, burger, salmon, risotto, roast dinner. Highly recommended leave a fat tip for staff!
