The Castle Inn - HOUNSLOW

This sports pub has unfortunately taken a turn for the worse under new ownership. They have removed all the sports TVs and memorabilia in an attempt to rebrand as a cocktail bar. It's no longer a good spot for rugby or football fans to gather before matches, as they may not feel welcome. It seems like this transition to a cocktail bar may not be successful, and the locals will have one less pub to enjoy. I predict that it will likely be closed down within a year.

Poor selection of draft beers ales, damp and old. The place is in desperate need of a refurbishment, its really depressing. An odd crowd gather here.

This place should be nicer than it is. The owner (and those before) have clearly made an effort- it’s just always seemed a bit off the mark. They also need to update their events signs! Music nights are worth a trip and to be fair, you can always get a seat when other pubs are rammed.

I visited the Castle yesterday and decided to have a spur-of-the-moment Sunday roast. The new owner, Brian, is fantastic and is working hard to give this pub a fresh and lively feel. My roast chicken was incredibly tasty, complemented by a fantastic glass of Malbec, and the service was top-notch! The pub was bustling with a fantastic atmosphere as we watched the football game, which made my partner very pleased! I highly recommend this place!
