Zen Japanese Grill & Sushi - Houma

I recommend the coconut sake and kimche fries. Fries were awesome, just had to add a lil spice cause I like spice, but flavor was very good. The coconut sake was perfectly paured with the food.Food: 4/5

We got our food to go from Zen the last two days/nights. I ate here once when they first opened and enjoyed it but it was always crowded when I tried again so I hadn’t been back until this week and I am hooked now. Your MLK roll and tempura roll are out of this world. Oh and I almost forgot how good the salad with ginger dressing was! I will be eating here so much more now.

Placed a pick up order yesterday 7/27/2023. No complaints about the food, but the service received from Kelsie H was horrible! She was rude taking my order over the phone. She misspoke the balance quoting it much higher than it was supposed to be. Mistakes happen, that’s fine. Now what’s not fine is her tone and bad attitude when I called back to verify the correctness of the order and amount. She spoke to me as if I was inconveniencing and annoying her in some way. When we picked up the order, she rudely slid the chopsticks across the counter after we requested them. I was also charged for all of the sauces for my meals, when at least 1 sauce is usually complimentary with each meal. Everyone has bad days, but when at work, please conduct yourself accordingly…disappointing to say the least

I don 't know how or why this place has a good rating. The food was awful, the sushi rice was mush and not seasoned properly. They messed up one part of our order because the chef took liberties with how the roll was prepared. Our waitress even said, It 's not supposed to come that way. Speaking of the waitress, she was sweet, but we had to go over to her about getting our order fixed because she was standing there talking with the other waitresses. She also didn 't ask if I wanted sushi or sashimi for something I ordered, so she did it as sashimi. I asked for a bowl of sushi rice and received more mushy, weirdly seasoned rice that I was then charged $6.00 for!!! Our table had holes in it, we left with food stuck to the bottoms of our shoes and the entire place is just dirty and run down. Not at all recommended!

First time visitor to Zen . Based on local recommendation stopped in for dinner . What a treat Our server Abigail was a cell ent and very knowledgeable about the menu and food. We ordered way too much and it was all delicious. My recommendation try the BLT roll and theBird nest. We also had he seared tuna salad and naked roll. All fresh , crispy and xcellent. I recommend this place if you like sushi
