The George - Horsham

The food at this restaurant is outstanding. The curry is incredibly authentic and the flavors really shine through in every dish. The lamb I had was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The atmosphere was cozy and clean and I would definitely come back again. The new owners have successfully created a British pub vibe with an excellent Indian restaurant as well.

We went to The George tonight and our group was extremely impressed! The restaurant is located in a beautiful historic building on the High Street. The atmosphere is cozy, inviting, and relaxing. The wine and beer selection was excellent. We chose to dine in the bar area, which was very comfortable, as we had our dog with us. The staff were friendly and accommodating. There is a positive energy throughout the hotel. We ordered dinner from the extensive Indian menu and it was delicious. We were happy to learn they offer take-away as well. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend The George to anyone visiting Henfield.

I will only be reviewing the Indian restaurant and not the hotel. The food at this restaurant is above average and reasonably priced compared to other Indian restaurants. The dining area is located in the medieval part of the building, giving it a historic feel. However, the rest of the ground floor seems underutilized and lacks a clear identity. It is neither a pub nor a dining area. I do hope for the restaurant's success, as it has seen frequent changes in ownership and management. It would be great to see some stability here. They should consider removing the Sky Sports advertising outside as it does not fit the atmosphere of the restaurant.

The food cannot be faulted, great flavours and plenty of it. Just please get front of house sorted out i was quizzed 3 times about a reservation i had made by phone (answering service despite the fact they only had 2 reservations written down and were not busy (why the fuss? . Also we were quizzed unnecessarily several times by can I remove this empty bottle etc??? The ‘manageress’ who took the order was pushy

Due to lockdown I ordered their Sunday takeaway, I can not recommend highly enough, hot food cooked to perfection, high quality and loads of it. Great value for money, friendly staff. I am now stuffed and need to lie down! Well done everyone at The George.
